Best Wineries to Propose at in Napa Valley!

I wrote a blog all about the best wineries to propose at in Healdsburg a few months ago, and I got such good feedback on how helpful it was that I decided to continue on with the best wineries to propose at in Napa Valley! I know picking a location can feel overwhelming- so here is a list of my favorites!

Viansa Winery

If you are looking for a winery with a view from the top, overlooking the valley, Viansa delivers! Click HERE for the most popular spots to propose on their property.

Inglenook Winery

I LOVE the European vibe of this winery- there is beauty everywhere and it just feels like you are in another world here!

Proposing in front of the fountain provides an epic moment, with the chateau in the background.

To have your proposal at Inglenook, book their library tasting - this ensures that you are the only proposal at that time. You can then arrive 30 minutes ahead of your tasting, propose first, and then head in to celebrate!.

Domain Chandon

I love that this location is a bit more secluded, even though it looks grand. Its surrounded one side by lush lawns, a long walkway, and then a walk upstairs on top of the tasting room, there is a patio set up and more grass to chill end enjoy the moment with a glass of wine.

Stags’ Leap

The area here is only available by appointment, so again- great if you want a secluded spot with a view of the vineyards.

*Heads up- if you look on Google, there may be some confusion as there are two wineries with the same name-

Stags’ Leap Winery- this is the winery shown here -address is 6150 Silverado Trail (Open by Appointment Only, its down a private road with less signage, but totally worth the drive!)

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars- address is 5766 Silverado Trail, Napa, Ca 94558 (website is www.stagsleapwinecellars.com)

Why are there two wineries with practically the same name, just different apostrophe placement? Read THIS to find out more :)

Artesa Winery

This winery has a very modern feel to it, fun architecture, and a backdrop of the hills of Napa Valley! The tasting room is opposite of where they are at the end of the walkway. It is easy to either propose before you head in, or as you are leaving. Just a heads up that it is not private, as it leads to the main entrance, but if you time it well, you can usually fine a moment or two in between people walking up or down.

Domaine Carneros

If you are wanting an ultra epic moment, here you go! This winery is on the main drag of Hwy 12/121, and really is a sight to see! Most people choose to propose on the steps, like you see here- it’s good time it right so you don’t have a ton of people on the steps. **This option is only available on weekday mornings, the winery has requested no proposals on the steps on weekends as they are just too busy and it stops the flow of traffic.

Alternatively, Domaine also offers a proposal package with a tasting experience that ends with a Sabrage that leads well into a proposal on the lawn, overlooking the vineyards. If you are interested in that option, contact Domain directly to book.

Castello di Amorosa

Ah, the Castello! The castle, the olive trees and the hills and hills of vineyards make this winery a definite attraction. I have a full blog about tips if you are considering this location HERE!

If you prefer a more intimate experience, Castello does offer a proposal package in their North Tower. For more info on that, contact them directly.

**Update as of COVID- Castello is now only allowing people with an appointment/tasting reservation through the gate and up to their property. This includes having a photographer on site. This fee is $65.**

Hanzell Vineyards

Hanzell is what I would consider a bit of a hidden gem. It’s tucked away a bit, and so very peaceful. They take you on a tour of the grounds, and stop at this spot where you walk though a grove of trees to this opening, where you can propose with a vineyard backdrop.

Cline Cellars

You drive in on the front side to rows of vineyards, a gorgeous white house/tasting room, and then you drive around the back and there are lush lawns, trees, a walk way and a walk up to a fountain, surrounded by a pond. This couple had friends waiting in the wings and there was plenty of room for everyone to hang out.

Indian Springs in Calistoga

If you are looking for a more of an all inclusive getaway for your proposal, Indian Springs is perfect! You can take a gorgeous, tranquil stroll of the grounds, relax in the hot springs pool, get a massage…even enjoy a relaxed meal at Sam’s. All without leaving the property. And yes, there a multiple beautiful spots to propose, like this one!
