Senior Photos at the Lake | Healdsburg, California

So, let's get real here...boys, not usually huge fans of having their photos taken. I joke that girls will contact me to set up their sessions, but Mom's are the ones who contact me for their sons! That's ok, I get it...boys have more important things to do, right? Like fishing, for example! It worked out well, doing Luke's senior photos at the lake; he just brought his pole along!I've known Luke and his family for a while now, and it's still so trippy to see him "all grown up"! He took several college courses in order to graduate early, and just found out that he was accepted to BYU Provo and heads there in January! I am so proud of him and his dedication!I learned a TON about fishing...it's never been a sport I follow, but I was fascinated and Luke played along and answered all my questions. I knew this session wasn't his idea, but asked him if there was any shot he would like to try and get. He told me he thought a silhouette of him fishing would be cool. I have never really done a silhouette shot before (I tend to want to see my clients' faces!) but it was so fun to get creative and try something new! I had Luke cast out his line (I'm try to sound cool and knowledgable here, that might not be the correct term!) over and over again to get a few great shots...and then it happened- he caught a fish!!! Super fun to catch that on camera! I love watching people in their element; nothing can compare to the joy they have doing what they love!I am all about incorporating things that are important to the senior- it definitely makes the session even more personal!Congrats, Luke! Jon and Jana, you have a pretty cool kid!
