Proposal at Indian Springs in Calistoga

From the moment I started chatting with Bonnie about her proposal at Indian Springs in Calistoga, I knew I had made an instant friend. She is from North Carolina, and her accent reminded me so much of my husbands family who live there…her easy going and fun nature was easy to love!

The original plan was to take Candie (her girlfriend) to Sam’s Social Club for dinner and propose at the table. Super romantic since it’s Candie’s favorite place…but the more we chatted logistics (it would be after dark, and with COVID restrictions, the outdoor dining would be a bit cramped), we realized doing it earlier in the day would work much better.

I was in the area the week before, so I headed over to scout out a location, and of course it was raining! I FaceTimed Bonnie and took her on a “tour” and we found an incredible spot. Thankfully, the day came and the sun was shining just perfectly :)

Bonnie met me at the location 15 minutes early, and we put together some paper lanterns she bought that spelled out “Candie, will you marry me?”. Although the original intent was to use them at the restaurant after dark, Candie was still able to read them when she walked up. Her reaction was so amazing!

Afterwards, we had the chance to walk around the resort and take more photos and it made ME realize that I need to bring my husband back for a weekend getaway! Such a tranquil, beautiful place!
