Best Wineries To Propose at in Calistoga

If you are just starting your search for the best wineries to propose at in Calistoga, St. Helena and Rutherford, you might feel overwhelmed at the options. I have put my top recommendations below, based on their popularity as well as if the winery allows proposals and professional photography. All of these wineries are on or near the St. Helena Highway corridor and within 15-20 minutes of each other.

Castello di Amorosa - The fairytale Castle winery of Napa Valley! You have the option of proposing out front in the vineyards in front of the Castello (you would just pay for your regular tasting fee for admittance up the hill, as well as a separate “tasting” for me), or you can book a private, more intimate experience through Castello which includes a tour, tasting, and ends with you going up to the North Tower for your proposal!

Sterling - The experience starts with an amazing gondola ride up to the top, where you end at the South Terrance with a stunning view of Napa Valley, the perfect spot to propose. (If you or your partner have a fear of heights, this may not be the option for you.) They only offer this at 10am, right when they open, to ensure you have the most privacy before other guests arrive.

Vineyard 29 - A bit off the beaten path, with a huge patio that overlooks the valley, and an open area that is perfect for a proposal. Semi private (you would have your patio area to yourself, with another patio next to you).

Beringer - This winery has two popular options, including a shaded Redwood area, or a wine cave tour.

Caymus - If you were hoping for more of a serene garden look, Caymus is perfect! They just renovated their outdoor space, and it’s beautiful!

Inglenook - This winery is iconic for it’s historic chateau, and huge fountains. It’s best to come early if you prefer to avoid crowds.
