Surprise Engagement at Castello di Amorosa
Felipe was staying at Alila Napa Valley and wanted to use a nearby vineyard as the proposal location. Lucky for him, a certain castle winery is in the neighborhood! This surprise engagement at Castello di Amorosa was so sweet and so fun!
When I started doing proposals, almost 9 years ago, I used to hide all the way down the vineyard row and then try my best to stick out at the last minute, so the guy could see me and know which row to go down. In recent years, I’ve realized how much easier it is for both of us if I pretend to be a photographer “waiting for their client to arrive” and have the guy ask me to take a picture with their phone to get them in the right location. Don’t worry I switch out my fancy camera at the last minute ◡̈ This is why the first photo is a portrait with both of them looking at me, and them BAM! He is pulling out a ring and she had no idea it was coming!
They really did such am amazing job with their outfits - I love a pretty dress with a little pop in the vineyards, goes so well with the Castle theme! The other thing that worked really was was their constant giggling - its a joy to capture emotions!
