Proposal at Gar Woods Pier in Tahoe
This proposal at Gar Woods Pier in Tahoe was actually Plan B, which is hard to believe!
Patrick originally contacted me after he saw his co-worker had used me for his proposal (see that HERE), and his plan then was to propose at MacRostie Winery in Healdsburg. I even toured the location and we had a plan in place- and then COVID-19 hit and all wineries had to close. That was in March. Patrick and I kept in touch, hoping things would get better/let up and we could just reschedule.
I was so excited to hear back from him that he had decided to quit waiting on the wineries and changed the location to Tahoe! It’s a family tradition on her side to go to Gar Woods for dinner and take a photo on the pier that is connected to it. The plan was to arrive there with her parents, take a photo on the pier, and then the parents would back off and he would go down on one knee!
It was a GORGEOUS day in Tahoe. Seriously, coming from Healdsburg where it was nearing triple digits and watching the temps descent to a perfect 77 was such a relief! Tim came with me (he is the best driver, especially on long trips!) and we really enjoyed just hanging out at the pier, people watching and watching the boats come in and take off.
The only real issue was that the pier is a public place, so we had to time it right so there weren’t people all over the place- well, I feel like we hit the jackpot because as busy as the pier was when Tim and I got there, as soon as Patrick and company arrived, it thinned out! They really had most of the dock to themselves and it was such a fun moment to watch the parents so excited, too!
The last surprise was Patrick’s parents and sister popping out from the restaurant to join the celebration! Like I said in THIS blog, I am starting to really fall in love with Tahoe in the summer/fall!
