Proposal at Castello di Amorosa North Tower in Calistoga

I’m sure you can imagine that one the THE best parts of being a proposal photographer is capturing the surprise on their face- and her face at this proposal at Castello di Amorosa North Tower in Calistoga was probably top 5 for me!

I get a good amount of proposal inquiries for this location, and people always ask what I think- the BIG pro to using the North Tower is having privacy at a winery that is usually pretty busy. I have a great spot to hide while my couples walk up the stairs, and the views looking out the sides of the tower are a great distraction for what’s about to happen :) I photograph these great first moments and then actually give my couples like 10 minutes of real alone time- to call family or to just celebrate! (I had one girl who literally shouted from the tower “I’m engaged!!” for like 5 minutes!)

I love hearing the story about how people met, and Louis said he didn’t think their first date went well but wasn’t shocked because he thought she was gorgeous and way out of his league. Come to find out, it was a misunderstanding and a second date (and many others, obviously) happened.
